HDDs in the 2.5" form factor are getting more and more popular as their storage capacity is growing. It is a logical consequence to employ them in servers. That's why ICY BOX offers a backplane that fits into a single 5.25" unit and holds four 2.5" SATA/SAS HDDs or SSDs. The height of the HDDs may even be 15 mm, for greatest storage capacity.

This ICY BOX works reliably even with huge amounts of data being transfered. That's a great recommendation for the hard duty in RAID systems. Accordingly demanding is the layout of the cooling. Two 40 mm fans cool the aluminium frame reliably and silently. Everything is as solid and safe as you know it from the ICY BOX backplanes for the "big ones".
Now for the little ones

We are not only offering a backplane solution for 3.5", now there is a solution for 2.5" HDDs and SSDs. It can hold 4 HDDs with a maximum height of 15 mm.





An elaborated system

To prevent overheating of the HDDs and SSDs at full duty, the aluminium case provides a good heat dissipation and is a perfect match wit the two 40-mm Fans.

is assure by SATA III and a SAS chipset. Due to Sata Power no extra powerline is needed for the Backplane. The lock protects the HDD from unauthorized or accidental access
